Barcelona is an ideal place for hosting congress and fairs. It's privileged location by the Mediterranean, it's weather and extensive air flights connection makes a perfect combination for business and pleasure.
The newest addition to Barcelona convention centre scene is the international convention centre at the Forum area, Centre Convencions Internacional Barcelona (CCIB) built in 2004. The surroundings of this eye-catching triangular-shaped structure include beaches, a fast-growing business district and more than 2,500 hotel rooms just a short walk away.
The CCIB comprises two buildings, the Forum and the convention centre, which are linked by a spacious underground walkway. The Forum building includes an auditorium with 3,155 seats.
The convention centre has a surface area of more than 67,000 square metres, with an exhibition area of 11,249 sqm. In the other parts of the centre, there are 45 meeting rooms available (from 30 to 2,500 sqm), as well as two open patios and a large banquet room with a beautiful terrace overlooking the sea. The centre is highly flexible and can cater to diverse needs.
At the Fira de Barcelona congress centre near Plaza Espanya just west of the city centre there is a massive 365,000 sqm congress and convention space on offer located in the green lung of Barcelona, on the foot of majestic Montjuic mountain. Comprising several venues including The Palau de Congressos (Congress palace) and the exhibitions pavilions at Gran Via avenue (6 pavilions) and the 8 halls at Montjuic which also has 50,000sqm of outdoor space. The facilities benefit from huge capacity, great transport links and a first class location. Within these sites, the Fira de Barcelona offers two venues specifically geared towards congresses: the Montjuïc Conference Centre and the Gran Via Convention Centre.
Finally the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya (not to be confused with the similarly-named centre at Fira above) is located in the north Diagonal area close to Nou Camp stadium. Gorgeous gardens surround the Palau, allowing you to take advantage of the sunny Barcelona weather. The centre is easily accessed by highway or metro.

On the last years, the forum zone has become as one of the premium spaces for hosting conventions. It's proximity to the Mediterranean sea and the diagonal mar shopping centre does it an ideal place for hosting a congress. Barcelona Conference Center
The Barcelona Conference Centre is situated on the Fira's sector. Fira is the Catalan name for the fair and congress venues that take place in Barcelona. It's pretty close to the city centre and our recommended hotels are Hotel Plaza Catalunya, Hotel Fira Palace and Barcelo Hotel Sants.
Palau de Congressos de Catalunya
The Palau de Congresos de Catalunya is situated on the end of the Diagonal Avenue , the financial district of Barcelona. It is well connected to the airport, and on a 20 minutes ride to the city centre. The congress nearby hotels are Hotel Princesa Sofia, Hotel Juan Carlos I and Hotel NH Rallye. Palau de Congressos de Catalunya is on metro line 3 (green line) with stops at Palau Reial and Zona Universitaria.
