We are getting closer to August, and you can still find some good lastminute offers for staying n Barcelona. You can find some available bargains in business hotels far from the touristy area of las ramblas . Business hotels are low season in August, so they do some 3×2 offers in order to swap their suitcase customers for sandals and shorts customers. Usually, on late July, it was difficult to find good prices, but this year, the economical crisis is making visitors to wait for a last minute offer.

Summer in Barcelona

Spend the summer in the city doesn’t seems to sound as a good option, but if the city is Barcelona, that’s another story.

Barcelona offers a summer of endless possibilities. First of all, you can go at any time of day or night to the beach to relax from the bustle of the city. The beaches are connected with the city by the yellow metro line or bus. Barcelona beaches are fairly good taking into account that we are in a city of two million inhabitants
During the day, you can visit the beautiful Sagrada Familia, stroll through the narrow streets of the Gothic quarter, or rambling around it’s most famous street; Las Ramblas. If one gets tired of the heat, you can enter at any of the big shopping malls that are in the city centre. Barcelona offers a wide range of shops at prices to suit every taste.
When the sun goes down, you can enjoy the long and warm Barcelona nights. Start by taking a cold beer on the terrace of a bar, dine at any restaurant of the Gothic quarter, and going out in many bars and clubs you will find alongside las Ramblas.

Looking for some good photos of Brcelona i’ve found this ones i would like to include in my site. It catched my eye, the particular treatment of the color and the light of this photos.

Here are my favourite ones, but if you want to see them all , you can find them at fllickr . It seems to be that Mor is the name of the artist that has shoot this photos, and as he explains in flickr, he gets this effect doing several exposures of the photos.

Vicky Cristina Barcelona

The new Woody Allen’s movie Vicky Cristina Barcelona has been presented this week in the Cannes Cinema Festival. This film is starred by Penelope Cruz, Scarlett Johansson and Antonio Bardem,

Vicky , Cristina , Barcelona was shoot in Barcelona on summer 07 and talks about a Painter (Antonio Bardem) who tries to flirt with the american tourist (Scarlett Johansson) but he has the presence of his former wife (Penelope Cruz). The shooting of the film signified the beginning of the romance between Penelope Cruz and Antonio Bardem.
Barcelona , expects that this Woody Allen’s film will suppose a big promotion of the city for the american and English market, as the tittle, Vicky Cristina Barcelona, counts with the fact to include the name of the city, a thing that it’s not very common in the movie’s titles (we’ll don’t count Casablanca)

The film includes scenes shot in Las Ramblas, Gothic Quarter and the Park Güell. It’s expected to be released on September 08.
