Weather in Barcelona is mediterranean and have four very distinct seasons. The city is located on the north-east coast of Spain, and so its proximity to the sea is the reason why the weather is relatively mild all year round.
With around 90 days of rainfall per year, it is not surprising that Barcelona often suffers from drought. Barcelona is famous for its shopping streets covering mainly it’s city centre with paseo gracia, topped of main chain stores as zara, mango h&m and expensive design shops as armani, zegna or chanel. Also don’t miss their walking streets surrounding plaza cataluña, portal del angel and las ramblas. Some major shops are open on sunday during the Christmas season.
Temperatures can get up to 15 to 20 ºC on a sunny day, so that’s great for that season of the year and compared to the cold and wet northern Europe. Also, main building’s and commercial centres are adorned with Christmas lights, which gives you a new perspective of the city of Barcelona at night.
