Weather in Barcelona is mediterranean and have four very distinct seasons. The city is located on the north-east coast of Spain, and so its proximity to the sea is the reason why the weather is relatively mild all year round.

With around 90 days of rainfall per year, it is not surprising that Barcelona often suffers from drought. However, when it rains, it is usually sporadic – rainfall does not last long and it is followed by clear blue skies and sun. At the same time the summer thunderstorms can be intense.
